In order to ensure as flexible operation as possible, the pressure switches are fitted with micro switches, which enable the switching of an electrical load of up to AC 250 V, 20 A directly.

For lower switching power ratings, such as for PLC applications, argon gas-filled micro switches with gold-plated contacts can be selected as an option.

For applications with special requirements on the wetted parts, a version with Monel^® is available.

By using a Bourdon tube measuring system, the model BA and BAX pressure switch is extremely robust and guarantees optimal operating characteristics and the highest measuring performances, with repeatability lower than 0.5 % of span.

Leading in design and functionality
The electronic pressure switch model PSD-4 pressure switch represents the extensive further development of thePSD-30 electronic pressure switch, itself already awarded with the “iF product design award” for its outstanding functionality. A high accuracy of 0.5 %, freely configurable output signals (PNP/NPN, 4 … 20 mA/0 … 10 V), the 5:1 scalability of the analogue output, in addition to outstanding self-diagnostics, make the PSD-4 an excellent automation solution.

Customised installation
The installation of the PSD-4 can be flexibly adapted to the individual mounting situation. Due to the almost unlimited rotation of the digital display and case by more than 300°, the digital display can be adjusted independently of the electrical connection. The digital display can thus always be aligned to face the operator, and the M12 x 1 connection positioned to suit the desired cable routing.

High quality
During development of the WIKA switch family a high value was placed on a robust design and the selection of appropriate materials suited to machine-building applications. For this reason the case and the threaded connection of the electrical connector are made from stainless steel. Overwinding or tearing off the connector is therefore virtually impossible.

IO-Link 1.1
With the optional output signal in accordance with the IO-Link communication standard, the PSD-4 electronic pressure switch allows a fast integration into modern automation systems. IO-Link offers simpler and faster installation, parameterisation and higher functionality for the PSD-4.

By using a diaphragm measuring system, the model MW diaphragm pressure switch is extremely robust and guarantees optimal operating characteristics. For applications with special requirements on the wetted parts, versions with materials from PTFE, Monel or Hastelloy are available.

For setting ranges from 4 … 40 bar a piston replaces or completes the diaphragm as a measuring element. The wetted parts of this variant from stainless steel are particularly suited for liquid media.

The PSM-550 is used in industrial control, monitoring and alarm applications.

The switch point can be be specified by the customer on site.

The instrument can switch electrical loads of up to AC 230 V, 10 A.

The PSM-550 pressure switch offers many application possibilities with non-corrosive media like oil, water and air.

Model PSM01 screw-in pressure switches in a diaphragm or piston variant open or close a circuit, depending on whether the pressure is dropping or rising. An adjustment screw enables easy and convenient on-site setting of the required switch point. Optionally, WIKA offers its customers the factory setting of the switch point.

The model PSM01 pressure switch is suitable for applications where compressed air, neutral and self-lubricating fluids as well as neutral gases are used.

The high reproducibility of the switch point of ±2 % and the optional socket wrench mounting make this switch interesting for both OEM and small customers.

Award-winning in design and functionality
The successful design and the excellent functionality of the WIKA switch family were already confirmed by winning the “iF product design award 2009” for the PSD-30 pressure switch.

The robust LED display has been designed using 9 mm high characters (the largest possible) and with a slight incline in order to make reading the pressure as easy as possible from a long way off. A 14-segment display has been used, since it represents text very well.
The 3-key operation makes simple, intuitive menu navigation possible, with no need for additional assistance. The menu navigation conforms to the latest VDMA standard. The VDMA standard for fluid sensors (24574-1, part 1 – pressure switches) has the aim of simplifying the use of pressure switches by standardising menu navigation and display.

The control keys have been designed as large as possible and are arranged ergonomically to ensure fast and easy adjustments. Operation without any additional assistance is made easier through the tactile feedback.

Model PSM02 mechanical pressure switches are employed wherever compressed air, neutral and self-lubricating fluids or neutral gases are used and a precisely set hysteresis is needed.

The high reproducibility of the switch point of ±2 % and the settability of the hysteresis makes the model PSM02 pressure switches interesting for all customers who place a value on precision as well as an attractive price.

The PSM-520 is used in industrial control, monitoring and alarm applications.

Application area in refrigeration and air-conditioning technology
The model R-1 pressure transmitter has been optimally designed for the specific requirements of refrigeration and air-conditioning technology.

Its monolithic construction dispenses with the need to use seals on the process side. This enables the model R-1 to be used with all typical refrigerants.

Excellent reliability
The hermetically-welded, dry, thin-film cell ensures long-term leak tightness. Moreover, these efficient cells, made with a sputtering technique, feature high long-term stability and a very high burst pressure.

The pressure transmitter SA-11 is designed especially for the requirements of the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

It is particularly suitable for the special conditions of CIP/SIP cleaning processes, such as chemical stability towards cleaning liquids and high temperatures.

The flush diaphragm is directly welded to the process connection. This guarantees a crevice-free connection of the process connection and the measuring cell so that additional sealings are not required. For dead-space free instrumentation, aseptic process connections (clamp, threaded, VARIVENT ® and NEUMO®) are available.

The SA-11 pressure transmitter is ideally suited to fulfil the stringent demands of sanitary applications and is EHEDG certified. Furthermore, the SA-11 is marked with the 3-A symbol and current version number, as it conforms, based on a third party verification, to the 3-A standard.

Design

A diaphragm made of 1.4435 stainless steel forms a flush separation of the process medium from the pressure measuring instrument.

The process pressure is transmitted hydrostatically from the diaphragm, via an FDA-approved system fill fluid, to a piezo-resistive sensor.

The measuring range covers 0 … 250 mbar up to 0 … 25 bar.

The SA-11 pressure transmitter is powered with a DC voltage of 10 (14) … 30 V. Available electronic output signals are 4 … 20 mA, 0 … 20 mA or 0 … 10 V output.

A stainless steel case with an ingress protection of up to IP 68 offers a secure protection for external cleaning with splashed water and enables its use in high-humidity environments. Through the integrated cooling section, process temperatures of up to 150 °C can be realised.
